DISCUSSION
To bring the vessel icon into view, touch View, Vessel, and your navigation computer will automatically open a chart that contains your vessel location. The vessel icon will be centered on the screen. If this does not work, it may be that your navigation computer is not receiving a position signal from your GPS. The GPS status button in the lower left corner of the screen should say "GPS: On." If it says "Off," check your GPS antenna and cable on top of the cabin for damage. Also, make sure that the antenna has a clear view of the sky, so that it can receive adequate signals from enough satellites to fix your position on the chart. If you are still unable to get a good vessel position fix, contact Maptech from your vessel for technical assistance. Your navigation computer is equipped with special diagnostic software tools for verifying GPS signal output; a member of Maptech's technical staff can guide you in using these diagnostic tools to verify your GPS connection. |
