Type II Hardware revisions

This document will outline some of the hardware changes occurring in Type II Navigator Computers


DISCUSSION

We are diligently and constantly working hard to provide the best navigation systems available. As part of this process, hardware improvements are made and implemented on an ongoing basis.

The following document outlines the changes and improvements that have occurred in the Type II hardware by serial number, approximate manufacture date and revision.

Revision 0.
Serial Numbers 12.31.001 through 12.31.074:
These units are the first run of the Type II hardware.
Approximate manufacture dates of Feb 04 through May 04.

Revision 1 and 2
Serial Numbers 12.31.075 through 12.31.110:
Approximate manufacture dates June 04 through July 04
Improvements made:
Increased screen reliability correcting jittery screen

Revision 3 and 4
Serial Numbers 12.31.111 through 12.31.194 and up
Approximate manufacture dates Aug 04 to present
Improvements made:
Hardware changes to combat internal condensation in screen
Improved motherboard to help correct issues of not powering up or powering up to a white screen
Improved start up speed during boot up
Increased NMEA reliability correcting failures that were caused by miswires
Improved Power Supply reliability

**Important Notes**
1. The power supply must be unpowered whenever interface cables are connected or disconnected.
2. The 19 pin interface cable must be upgraded on all new installations to latest configuration.
3. Installations must allow for a 3" bend radius of the 19 pin interface cables.
