'Run time error 91' when trying to open charts - or no charts appear when attempting to open a chart.

DISCUSSION

This error occurs usually when The CAPN does not find any charts available when building the list of charts.

To correct for this, either click on the Charts menu, and choose ‘Set or Refresh Chart Paths’
when The CAPN opens.
Using the window with the yellow folders, browse to a folder where you have charts installed.
When you click on a folder that has compatible charts inside it, the Add Path button will become active.
Click the Add Path button to add the selected chart directory to a list The CAPN will search when building the chart list.

Note: This can also be done with The CAPN closed by opening the file Chart_Paths_Mosaic.Txt located in the directory ‘C:\Capn Voyager’
Double click this file and type in “C:\chart folder name, 1, chart style


Also, due to a manufacturing error on Installer disc for v8.3.16 (7/25/06),
the small collection of sample charts included on the installation CD for The CAPN may not be properly installed. Thus, if there are no other charts detected by The CAPN when it starts, various errors will appear.

To correct the problem:
1. Use 'My Computer' to open 'Local Disk (C:)' and browse to the folder:
C:\Capn Voyager\AA_Startup_Charts
2. This folder will be virtually empty, with the exception of a second 'AA_Startup_Charts' folder. Open this second folder.

3. From the Edit menu, choose 'Select All'. All the chart files should highlight in blue.

4. From the Edit menu, choose 'Cut', then go Back to the first AA_Startup_Charts folder.

5. In the empty AA_Startup_Charts folder, choose 'Paste' from the Edit menu. The charts should relocate from the second AA_Startup_Charts folder to the first.

6. Close Windows Explorer, Start The CAPN, and all the sample charts should be ready for use.
