I purchased a 2002 boat with the Northstar 962 already installed and a BSB 2.0 version of Region 9 for the Bahamas. Are the newer Region 9 and 9.1 charts better in the new BSB4 format? Do I need an upgrade from Northstar to run these Maptech charts? Should the Chart Navigator Software be installed or does the Northstar 962 have it's own program for running these charts?
The region 9 is now done by a different charting source. It's a private company out of Germany called Nautical Publications. We rely on them to give us the most up to date charts in the Caribbean. Thanks for your help. Is there site where I can go to demo or see these new Region 9 charts? I wasn't very satisfied with the older Region 9 charts and would like to see the new ones before I go to the expense of upgrading the Northstar.

I received the new Region 9 chart. Thank you! I had the Northstar 962 upgraded to handle these new version charts. My question is ..Do I install Offshore Navigator onto the Northstar or just the Chart CD??

Ok. Here's what I did...Installed Offshore Navigator and charts on my computer. You guys emailed me an activation code. Now when I go to install the charts onto the Northstar I get an error message that the Activation code or Product ID are invalid.. Do I need a new Activation code?

Each computer, weather your home pc or your NorthStar 962, has a unique Installation ID. So you will need a different Activation Code for your new install.
The only number that will remain the same in these installations is the Product ID.
Begin installing on your NorthStar, when you get to the point where your registering, you want to pick "On this Computer NOT currently connected to the internet".
Make note of your NEW installation ID and call or email Sales, we will need the Prod. ID and the new Installation ID. We will inturn provide you with the new Activation ID.
(Note: this is only for charts from a Digital Chart Kit, Marine Navigator pkg, and Companion CDs in the BSB4.0 or BSB 5.0 format.
The charts from the free boating site are unencrypted and do not require registration.)
