I have just updated my Offshore Navigator Lite to version 5.07c. In starting I got this massage "Failed to initialize GPS Library". I have used this GPS 2 years whith the version 5.02. When I try to choose my Garmin GPS, the GPS list is empty. What can be the problem?
I recieve data from GPS in Hyperterminal.

While I was waiting for tip i have tried to find out what was the reasen of the problem. I tried to run GPSWiz file direkt. Then I got a message that the file only could be used in Windows XP. I have Windows NT. I also run the old GPSWiz file from versjon 5.02, but no GPS list displayed. Therfore I have uninstalled Offshore Navigator Lite 5.07c and reinstalled my old versjon 5.02. Afterwards I got the GPS connection back again. GPS now works properly in the map.
I can not find any informsjon that Offshore Navigator Lite 5.07c only works together whith Windows XP.

Odd,

Go to this link to view system requirements for the Companion CD:

http://www.maptech.com/water/companioncd/index.cfm?infopg=sr

This page states that you need Windows 2000 or XP.

Sorry I didnt see that system requirements. On the back of my Companion CD the printed system requirements are: Windows 98/BT/2000/ME or XP. I suppose BT is ment to be NT.

The Companion CD was purchased just a week ago and had no idea that the system requirements was wrong. I hope the old 5.02 versjon can still be used for some time.

I bought this product to run on windows2000 and NT, when looking at the packaging with the BT, I thought it might have just been a typo, I guess i was wrong.
is there any way to get maptech to run on NT, mapsource, and a who variety of other programs do just fine.
What is the BT operating system listed on the packaging?

Hi John,

I'm not exactly sure what product you are referring to. It sounds like a Companion CD, but for what region? What is printed on the CD? I have gone through and looked at several companion CDs both newer editions and older editions and have not been able to find compatibility information for any Operating system other than XP and Windows 2000 printed on the CD.
