I'm a long time user of The Capn FirstMate and recently upgraded to the latest version of TheCapn Voyager Mosaic (8.3.15).
I've not changed any other components of the configuration and am having problems with the autopilot. The APB sentence works great. When I turn on the BWC sentence, though, it looks like the waypoint ID is always set to "0" and the autopilot thinks that it has a new waypoint. As long as I just steer to one waypoint, I'm fine, but if I try to follow a route the autopilot gets confused because the APB is sending the right waypoint ID but the BWC always uses waypoint ID of "0".
You only need to send the APB sentence to your autopilot. The reason the BWC sentence always contains a waypoint of 0 is that some of the early Autohelm units would not work when sent an actual waypoint number. Also some units cannot handle waypoint numbers that exceed 20 or 30.
The autopilot should work just fine with only the APB sentence being output.
Sorry for taking so long to respond. I had to consult with our software developer on this one and we came to the conclusion that your issue is an issue that will need to be corrected in the next version of the software. I will add this to our database of requested features for our development team to work on.
I have noticed this issue as well... the original poster was running 8.3.15. When you refer to "the next version" what version would that be? Since we're at 8.3.18 now, is the issue fixed? or deferred to some later release?

We are still going through the transition with adding The CAPN to our development schedule, etc. We have some of our seasoned software engineers working on the software - and we are planning a major release this spring. It is our hope to have this addressed at that time.
