I have bought the program Copilot 9 for my laptop and it comes with a Philips GPS antenna using a USB port. Is this antenna supported and do you have information about the driver you mentioned in previous posts

Hi Cliff,
As long as it
1) is outputting NMEA 0183
&
2)Comes with a driver that creates a virtual COM port...
The it should work just fine in Offshore Navigator Lite to give you real-time positioning.

Hi Cliff,
It should say on the packaging somewhere that it outputs NMEA.
The driver would come on a disc, when loaded / installed the pc will then know what type of device it is (a GPS, a keyboard, a mouse, ect)
Here is a tech document that covers Virtual COM Ports, and how to check to see if you have indeed loaded the driver for this GPS.
Make sure you have the gps plugged into the PC when checking Device Manager
