I recently switched to Chart Navigator Pro. I have used the Capn for years. My current version is 7.5. I would like to uninstall the Capn, but retain the Almanac and Tides/Currents applications. They are very handy for a quick review. Is it possible?

Thanks

Hi Mike,

I have learned in life "anything is possible".

Below is a list of files and folders you will find in the Capn Voyager folder
(Normally, C:\Capn Voyager)
that you WILL NEED TO SAVE, everything else in this folder you may delete (I suggest manually)

Folders:
Capn_SAIC_Flow
Capn_SAIC_Tide
Data

Files:
Capn_Resources
Capn_SAIC_Flow
Capn_SAIC_Tide
Capn_SAIC_Tides
CapnFlow
CapnTC32
CapnTide
CDNotify6.ocx
Certifct.dll
cp3245mt.dll
DNCLIB.dll
Flow
FLOWLAST
FlowPass
FLOWSAVE
mctdib.dll
MMS_NTI.DLL
ntchartdb.dll
ntobject.dll
ntquilt
ntquilt.ocx
ntS57Parser.dll
ntweb.ocx
passtide
sde61.dll
Sdecdx61.dll
Set_Date
td2ll
td2ll.dll
TIDELAST
TidePass
Tides
TIDESAVE
VBF_Save
VBT_Save
Vbtide
Vbtide
WINISAM.dll
Wmm.dat

After the you've deleted the rest of the files, please
click here to download a patch that will install some other need files

At this point, you may also delete your shortcuts for the Capn Voyager software, they are no longer needed. (Just keep the 3 shortcuts for the "Capn Tides", "Capn Currents", & "Capn Almanac".

Since you have switched over to Chart Navigator Pro, I actually suggest to you that you use the Tides and Currents found within Chart Navigator Pro.
This data will be more acurate.
(With the above info I have provided, "Capn Tides", "Capn Currents", & "Capn Almanac" WILL still function w/o the Capn Voyager program installed.

Best of luck, and happy sailing !!!
