apparently there are no available Maptech charts for Australia use with Searay Navigator - what functionality does the system have for operation in Australian waters? the boat also has RL80 chart plotter/radar/AutoPilotST7001- will the Navigator still talk to these items?

Hi John,

You are correct, Maptech does not have any Australian charts in our library, we have just not been successful in getting the licensing.
Not sure if this is helpful to you or not, but we do have New Zealand Charts:

Also, Yes, the Sea Ray Navigator will still be able to communicate with your Autopilot and send the NMEA data to the Raymarine unit.
However, with out Australian charts, there will not be detailed coverage in Australian waters other than the basic 1:17,716,535 Maptech World Chart (or with whatever non –detailed overlapping charts the New Zealand set my come with) on the Sea Ray Navigator.

You can still add waypoints and routes (with out the detailed chart coverage) you would more than likely need to enter in the Lat / Longs of those points manually rather than touching the screen to place them. Also, viewing the routes or marks on the Sea Ray Navigator could only be done from those non-detailed scale charts.
