I recently bought 3 regional chartkits that came with cd's containing raster charts for each region. These appear to be in a compressed format. How can I extract the charts from these cd's and install them in the Capn database. Presumably these charts on the cd's would be more up-to-date than what I might have.

Hi Ken,

The process for installing and registering charts from Maptech digital chartkits is the same as the process for installing Canadian CHS charts. Please follow instructions at this link: http://www.maptech.com/support/doc.cfm?docid=502&plid=77

Thanks for the fast reply.
However, the process at the link you gave does not work.
I have the following CD which came with the chartkit I bought:
Chartbook Companion CD: Chesapeake and Delaware Bays, Region 4,Edition 10
When this cd starts up, there is no option to 'register the charts' as specified in the instructions, you can only install Navigator Lite, read manuals, install pdf, etc. I tried accessing the cd via the Capn as suggested in the link, and the Capn finds no charts on the CD. Possibly there is a way to 'register' the charts elsewhere on the cd that I cannot find. The BSBCHARTS file on the cd contains encrypted files ending in .CAP. I think I should be able to install these charts with the Maptech product, but cannot figure a way to install them.
Please help further.
PS -- I am running Capn v8.3.20a

I found the problem. I needed to install the cd since registration is part of installation. Unfortunately, the Nav Lite must also be installed on the pc, taking up additional unnecessary space....oh well, at least I got the charts. Thanks again.
