I have a friend on the MV Deearleap heading fo Seattle now holding up in Bodega Bay on the coast of California north of San Francisco waiting for weather to get better.

Map Tech will not work due to only an analog signal in the area. Is there any work around or is he just SOL.

Monday looks like the earlist he will be able to head North.

NMEA data

Hello Roy,

In order for Maptech to track position, it requires is standard NMEA data being fed to it from a GPS. If the GPS is not sending out standard NMEA, or if it cannot obtain enough sat. fixes, Maptech will not be able to track.
